Club Liability Insurance

Peter James Insurance is proud to offer a comprehensive club liability insurance scheme, created by Kingfisher Insurance, specifically for classic vehicle clubs.

As we’re part of the same group as Kingfisher Insurance, we’re able to provide a flexible scheme that can be tailored to the exact requirements of your club. The scheme is available at a discounted rate for specialist vehicle clubs that are members of the Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs (FBHVC).

The Club Liability Insurance Scheme includes:

Employers’ Liability (£10 million): To protect your club against the cost of compensation claims from employees or volunteers who have sustained an injury as a result of activities undertaken on behalf of your club.

Products Liability (£2 million or £5 million): Covers the sale and provision of food and drink, regalia, memorabilia and printed literature. Can be increased to include the sale of new and remanufactured automotive parts, with no exclusions for safety-critical parts. If required, cover can be extended further for worldwide distribution, including the USA and Canada, with worldwide courts’ jurisdiction at very competitive premiums – an option not offered by many other insurers.

Public Liability (£2 million or £5 million): To protect your club in the event of any members of the public suffering personal injury or property damage due to negligence occurring during your club’s activities. It will pay for the cost of subsequent legal expenses and compensation claims, and is a general requirement by organisers for clubs attending shows and events. It also covers the cost of compensation claims under the Data Protection Act, including claims relating to breach of GDPR regulations, up to £250,000.

Professional Indemnity (£250,000): Offers protection against claims of incorrect advice given to a club member or third party, due to which a financial loss may be incurred. Cover includes advice given regarding vehicles of historic interest and can be extended to include vehicle valuations for an additional premium.

The scheme can also include:

All Risks Cover: Covers club property up to £1,000, anywhere in the UK, including at shows and events.
Money Cover: Covers up to £200 when attending shows and events.
All Club Liability Cover: This can be extended as required to include: Buildings, Contents, Stock, Defective Workmanship, Directors and Officers, Cyber Liability, and Legal Expenses.
