New Exclusive Partnership with The Land Rover Series One Club

20 October 2026

We are delighted to announce a brand new partnership with Land Rover Series One Club to provide an exclusive new scheme designed specifically for members of the club.

Designed by Enthusiasts, for Enthusiasts

Working closely with the Club and its members, we have developed an insurance scheme that reflects the distinctive ways of how members actually own, maintain and use their vehicles.

The scheme has been designed to reflect the way Series One Land Rover owners use and maintain their vehicles. Features include member-to-member driving cover, allowing Club members to drive another member’s Land Rover with comprehensive protection in place, as well as a self-repair option and cover for tools and spare parts up to £3,000.

Free agreed value and salvage retention are also included, helping to protect vehicles of significant historic and sentimental value while supporting their preservation for years to come.

The scheme offers a range of exclusive benefits that provide a compelling reason to join the Club. Just as importantly, the partnership aims to help preserve these historic vehicles by making ownership more accessible and rewarding for both current and future generations of enthusiasts.

Dave Youngs, Head of Classic at Peter James Insurance, said:

“Series One Land Rovers aren’t simply classic cars and we didn’t think their owners should be offered an insurance scheme that treats them as though they are.

“We have worked with the Club to understand how members actually use these vehicles and shape the scheme accordingly. That’s what our approach to club insurance is about: providing cover that enables members to enjoy their vehicles and club activities.

Kyle Cooper, Chairman of the Land Rover Series One Club, said:

“What appealed to us was the opportunity to help shape the scheme around our members, rather than simply being presented with an existing classic car policy carrying the Club’s name.

“We are also very conscious that the future of these vehicles depends upon another generation becoming involved. There is tremendous enthusiasm for early Land Rovers among younger people and we want to make it easier for them to turn that interest into actually owning, driving and maintaining one.

“Preserving Series One Land Rovers isn’t simply about keeping them in collections. It’s about keeping them maintained, used and enjoyed, passing on the knowledge required to look after them and ensuring there is another generation ready to become their custodians. We believe this scheme can make a genuine contribution towards that.”

Established in 1979, the Land Rover Series One Club exists to further interest in the maintenance, use and restoration of Series One Land Rovers. It provides members with technical assistance, historical research and help locating parts, as well as publishing its Club magazine, Legend.
